Class Trip to Adam’s Peak
Hmm … so it looks like the class has been going out on quite a lot of trips. Here you will see some dressed as if they have gone to a cold place while others like buffalos want to prove that they are thick skinned! This too is a contribution by Amal!
Class Hike to Hantana
The memories of the good old days again! Looks like the guys have been having maximum fun. If you look closely at one photograph, you will see some action! This blog does not permit pornography, but the editors decided to make an exception. Looking at most of the members in the picture reminds me of "Oliver Twist" the bag of bones! A special thank you again to Amal for sending the photographs.

Asanka Jayawardene
The” Mobitel man” they call is non other than our own Asanka. He is a key member of the Mobitel marketing team (specially corporate marketing) and never answers a call (now you know why Mobitel is successful in sales and marketing!). While all would agree of the fact that expecting a response from Asanka, if you call is a distant dream, Kanchana seem to have figured out a work around. So in the future if you call Asanka and if he doesn’t respond, please call Kanchana and he will tell you what to do. I was told that he doesn’t even respond to his wife but if Kanchana calls he forgets everything and attends to his call. Well done Kanchana, keep up the good work! But this has got his wife going mad (Many days Asanka has to sleep on the couch!)
Ruwanthika is his wife’s name and is a true support to the lad. I just can’t imagine where he will be without her. They say that the true spirit of journalism is when we make sure that the truth is brought to light. The picture even though shows as if Asanka is a fitness freak, in reality, he cannot go on for more than a minute or two (both on the bed as well as in the track!). By the way, he just love’s the idea of putting his arms around his wife and is a very romantic guy for his age!
You will also notice that he has his hair cut really short. This is because he believes in "precaution being better than cure". He is preparing now itself for the hair loss that is going to hit him soon for his age!

Vinod Senapala
Well my friends, Vinod surprised the world (and us specially!) when he finally tied the knot last august. I know what all are thinking, but the truth is that still he is not a father! (legal as well as illegal) The guy was so paranoid about the wedding (he is still very health conscious) and decided that he should reduce substantial amount of weight. He called his able friends (Kanchana, Kavinda and the gang) and started playing badminton as if it was anybodies business. The result was that he had a fracture in his ankle and had to be on the clutches for his wedding (those who want to see him limping during his wedding, please contact his wife. Be ready to get an ear full of the time she had because of this fellow!). Ooops! I almost forgot. His wife’s name is Chamila and I think Vinod is lucky to have someone like that. We have all stopped having regular baths as Vinod is busy these days putting up a house. I know you must be wondering why we are not having regular baths just because Vinod is building a house. Well guys, the house is fully equipped with a jacuzzi and a swimming pool overlooking a lake!

Kanchana Ekanayake
To be frank this guy needs no introduction and I think we all owe him for getting this site up and running, as we had loads of inputs from him. Well, for the benefit of the membership the photograph is of Kanchana, his wife Senora and two daughters! (Well if you want to know there real names you need to fire a call to Kanchana). Happily married (I know many still cannot believe it considering the state he was in college!) for more than eight years. His eldest daughter is seven years and the younger one is five. In fact some are planning to give his wife an award for putting up with him for such a long time. In the photograph you will notice that Kanchana is trying to come closer to Senora but she is keeping her distance. The reason for this is that the poor fellow is trying to have a go for another child (son!) and she just cannot put up with his nonsense. He is gainfully employed at Aitkin Spence as a manager. He was the former secretary (who did absolutely nothing!) of the batch and is in the present committee (let us all hope and pray that he does something useful - except contributing to this site!)

The 1992 batch on 22nd September 2007
History was created when members managed to stay put for a group photograph. Finally the entire batch of 1992 that made it to the AGM was made to stand (some sitting!) in front of the camera. History will have it that finally the Lions were tamed to be in a presentable pose. Please note that several attempts were made to figure out who is who. The members have become enigmatic after a few rounds of you know what. You will notice that certain members rubbing close to one another. As they say “old habits die hard!” Will keep you posted once we succeed in identifying the goons!

Activities planned for the year 2007/08
The new committee took a strong stride by rolling out a clear plan for the coming year. The highlights of it are
1. Opening of an official Batch Bank Account (We need to keep the loot in a place correct!)
2. Formation of Batch constitution (ABC Mendis has a task in hand and was by force appointed as the Legal Advisor)
3. Launch of Batch Web site (Yes few of our members abroad need to be jealous about what we do here!)
4. Production of an official Batch T- Shirt (Like the cap will be given out during a batch get together and will be charged arm and a leg if you buy it outside!)
5. Batch Family outing / Sports day ( this need to happen during this year towards the end Nov to early Dec’07)
6. New Membership drive including Overseas Members
7. Sponsorship of the Cricketer for 2007 - 2008
8. To have the ’92 Batch get together in every year in September
The committee felt that it needed all the support it can gather to make sure that all the above can become a reality.

AGM 2005/07
The Trinity College batch of 1992 had their annual get-together on Saturday the 22nd of September at the SSC. For those who are surprised by the word “annual” I would like to bring to your kind attention that last time such an event took place two years ago. We have decided to use the word “annual” to indicate the commitment we have to have such events every year! It started with the registration of the members and before the event started the welcome drink was replaced by a good round of old reserve! And as the saying goes “when the liquor goes in strange things come out” was exactly what was witnessed. There was a paradigm shift amongst the members.
Amongst this chaos the outgoing committee invited all the members to sit for the annual general meeting (AGM). Yes I know it is a shock to know that the TCK 92 batch had an AGM, but it couldn’t have gone more chaotic. The outgoing President, Secretary and Treasurer tried all the tricks up their sleeves to calm the crowd (as you can see in the picture all three have there eyes closed. Do not know whether it is the cause of "old reserve") even with some members being prefects in college, were dumb founded to see the unimaginable enthusiasm shown by the gathering.
After the committee elaborated the activities carried out for the last two years, they thanked the membership for the kind corporation extended to them. This was followed by the pro tem Chairman taking over the proceeding to elect the new committee for the year 2007/08. This was followed by the election of new office bearers.
